John earned his Juris Doctor, summa cum laude, from Albany Law School, where he graduated in the top three percent of his class while simultaneously serving his community as a Police Lieutenant and raising his family. While in law school, he served as an Article Editor for the Albany Government Law Review, published a legal brief in The New York Environmental Lawyer, and completed a Semester in Practice Judicial Clerkship with the Honorable Mae A. D’Agostino of the United States District Court for the Northern District of New York. John was also the recipient of the 2024 Federal Court Bar Association for the Northern District of New York Hon. Prior to joining the firm, John served as a Summer Law Clerk with a prominent Albany law firm, where he supported attorneys across the firm’s civil litigation, health law, trusts and estates, real estate, and business practice groups. During his clerkship, he assisted a business law partner with a complex, multi-million-dollar liquidation matter and regularly appeared before local, state, and federal courts.
In addition to his legal practice, John continues to serve as a Police Lieutenant with more than fifteen years of law enforcement experience. In that role, he provides operational leadership, oversees high-stakes critical incidents, authors policies and procedures, and manages the day-to-day administration of one of the region’s largest police agencies. He has also developed extensive experience in public-sector labor relations serving as the Vice President and lead negotiator for his police supervisors’ collective bargaining association. John also instructs at regional law enforcement academies, where he teaches legal and leadership topics to current and future law enforcement professionals.
Outside the office, John enjoys spending time with his wife and children, coaching youth sports, traveling, fitness, and training Brazilian jiu jitsu.
