Mediation/Arbitration

CD&M’s Alternative Dispute Resolution practice acknowledges that many civil matters are best resolved without costly and protracted litigation. Michael Conway and Ryan Donovan have both been selected by the US District Court for the Northern District of New York to serve as Mediators for the Mandatory Mediation Program. They have also assisted parties in bringing matters to a resolution in their years of experience as part-time Judges.

Michael and Ryan have handled complex multi-party personal injury and medical malpractice cases for Plaintiffs and Defendants. They have more than 40 years of combined experience evaluating cases and helping parties find the right result.

Mediation is a process that involves assisting and guiding the litigants in an informal attempt to resolve the dispute. This process can involve pre-mediation calls, an extensive mediation session and post-mediation follow-up.

Arbitration is a more formal process that calls for the neutral to make a determination on the merits of a case, after reviewing evidence and possibly hearing witnesses. While an Arbitration can be more extensive, it is generally far less costly and time-consuming than a formal Trial.

CD&M handles Mediation and Arbitration in the following areas: Personal Injury, Commercial Litigation, Contract Disputes, Property Damage Disputes and Business Disputes.
